Our agency is looking for support to fund our Camp Program!

The Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions Camp Program aims to bridge social gaps and empower financially disadvantaged children and youth in the Simcoe and Muskoka area. For over 20 years, it provided funding for them to access summer programs that foster learning and community connection. Through a structured referral process, we identify clients facing financial barriers who would benefit from summer programming, then match them to program/camp opportunities tailored to their interests and needs. This program offers them a chance to explore their passions, build critical life skills, and enhance their sense of belonging while also positively impact caregivers, local camps, and the broader Barrie community.

This program supports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by ensuring equal access for children and youth from various backgrounds, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. By removing financial barriers, the program enables all participants to access enriching opportunities. Additionally, children and youth are empowered to select from a wide range of camps and summer experiences available in our community, ensuring they can choose the opportunity that best suits their individual needs and interests.

In the Barrie area, we're hoping to send a least 60 children to camp this summer. With the average cost of $200-300 for a week of day camp, we're aiming to raise about $15,000 just for the Barrie and surrounding area. Most of the requests we receive are for children who require support from our camp program to help them financially during the summer months.
