We have teamed up with World Trade Centre Toronto to offer YOU - our valuable members, an amazing opportunity!
Many of the hurdles businesses must face to export their products, services or technologies globally can be minimized through the development of proactive export strategies. One of the ways that business managers can eliminate export barriers is by participating in the Toronto Board of Trade’s Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) which will be available right here in Barrie at The Barrie Chamber of Commerce.
On January 14th we will be hosting an information session conference call where you can learn more about the program and the many benefits that it will bring forth for your company.
TAP is designed to help businesses develop and activate a market entry strategy. The program leverages expertise and resources from a vast network of program partners and sponsors including Export Development Canada, Business Development Bank of Canada, Royal Bank of Canada, United Parcel Services, Cadesky Tax, Global Affairs Canada, Ontario Ministry of International Trade, and the City of Toronto to address the following:
- Navigate complexities of the global trade ecosystem;
- Leverage trade and investment resources;
- Access tailored, one-on-one coaching;
- Learn about international best-practices;
- Accelerate export readiness; and
- Expand global trade footprint and grow revenues.
You do not want to miss out on this amazing opportunity! The program regularly costs $5,000 to participate, however as a Chamber member you are eligible to join for FREE if you can commit to the following:
- 2 senior executives will attend all 4 days of the program. (due to the intensity of the program and the depth of strategic work involved, we strongly recommend two executives from the same company attend).
- Submission of a completed export plan by the end of the TAP program. (our team of international trade specialists will work with you to get this done as it is one of the main objectives of this program).
- Completing short bi-annual surveys to help TAP track your company’s progress after finishing the TAP program
Eligibility Guidelines:
The nomination period for company intake for the next TAP cohort is open. Nominated companies should fulfill the following criteria:
- Generates a minimum of $1M in annual revenue
- Is already exporting a product or service, but wishes to diversify its export markets - OR - Has taken exploratory steps to start exporting
- Has a product or service with a strong competitive advantage as a result of quality or patent protection
- The company can be located anywhere in Ontario, not limited to the Greater Toronto Region
- Has been operating for 2 years
