One of the key objectives of the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is to encourage academic and skills development and enable citizens of the Métis Nation to attain their educational aspirations. In pursuit of this goal, the MNO began offering training initiatives in 1996 with funding from the Métis Human Resource Development Agreement. Since that time, the MNO has built a comprehensive infrastructure to deliver employment and training opportunities to qualified Métis candidates.

Critical to the development of this high quality programming is partnerships with businesses and organizations to offer real world experience on the job. There are many benefits to employers in engaging the services of the MNO branch offices - in hiring their qualified candidates, your business may be eligible for wage subsidies; you can access candidates trained specifically for your work site; and you can encourage a richer, more diverse and inclusive workforce.

Patricia Graham, Metis Nation of Ontario

Patricia works for the Métis Nation of Ontario, Education and Training Branch as an Employment Developer for Region 7. She holds a Social Service Worker with Honors diploma from Georgian College and is a proud Metis Citizen within the Metis Nation of Ontario. Her main roles and responsibilities as an Employment Developer is to assists Métis people in their employment and training goals through case managing their educational endeavors and working closely with community business and organizations to develop opportunities for employment and contribute to growing a successful Métis Labour Market.
