Join us for our monthly educational breakfast, and start your business day on the right foot! This month, Shelley Camm, CPA, will be defining risk and explaining the various types of risks (internal vs external and Financial, Strategic, Compliance, etc.). She will then discuss risk tolerance, and probability of loss leading to how risk is assessed. Shelley will then demonstrate how internal controls can be put in place to minimize risk, and discuss how errors differ from frauds. You will leave this presentation with 10 simple internal controls that every business should have in place.
Shelley received her CMA degree in 1991, and spent much of my career in the corporate world working for such large and multi-national companies as Amerace Corporation, CTV, CIBC and Del Laboratories and Pharmaceutics. While working for these large companies, and learning all of their “best practices” she has also managed a private accounting practice, helping small business owners to achieve their greatest results. Since she feels that this is where she has made her greatest impact, she has decided to pursue this area and help small business owners to achieve the great results experienced by these larger entities.
If you haven't had the chance to make it out to any of our past CBBs, come and see for yourself what a great opportunity networking can be. Sponsored by The Mortgage Wellness Group, CBBs are held on the first Thursday of each month from 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM. Members are encouraged to bring their flyers, brochures, business cards and other promotional material to share and display. For a nominal charge, a full hot breakfast is served.
Please Register before 2:30pm on the day prior to the event. Registrations after that time may not be accepted.
If you are unable to attend, please call 721-5000 to cancel before 12:00pm on the Tuesday prior to the event. Those who are pre-registered but do not attend and have not canceled will be charged for breakfast.
