Art and Photography Fair Use with Emily McKibbon Friday, October 21, 12:15 to 1:00 pm The Rotary Education Centre at the MacLaren Admission free Fair use is a murky topic, and an increasingly important one. In an age of image saturation and the free exchange of digital pictures online, image appropriation is now a prominent tool for many contemporary artists. In this professional development presentation for artists, join MacLaren Associate Curator Emily McKibbon for a discussion on fair use and learn about accessing and using archival materials. Emily McKibbon holds a Master's in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management from Ryerson University. From 2011 to 2013, she was the Howard and Carole Tanenbaum Curatorial Fellow at George Eastman House International Museum of Film and Photography. She has worked at a number of different institutions in North America and New Zealand, including the Ryerson Image Centre, the Getty Research Institute and the National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy. She joined the MacLaren team in 2013.
